The Bible says that Humans (men and women both) have been created in the image of God. God even calls them gods, furthermore born again believers will reign with Christ in the age to come. Through the gospels, epistles and letters in the New Testament we are called to transcend our earthly body and enter the realm of the miraculous and furthermore communicate this reality and our own testimony to others so that they too can become disciples of the way, the truth, and the life.
Free Will
Mankind was given freewill so they could willingly choose life against death, love instead of sin and in doing so establish a true relationship with God that would reach into eternity. Saint Augustine gives a profound philosophy concerning the nature of freewill as apposed to robotic beings.
Post Fall - Dying and Deteriorating
After perfect creation was finished, mankind used their freewill to choose evil, then sin entered the human mind. Sin was followed by spiritual death, then physical disease, decay, pain and troubles and eventually leading to death of the body. In addition curses came into the whole earth.
