Hades, Gehenna and the Lake of Fire?
'Outer darkness' appears three times in the gospel of Matthew, Ch. 8:12; 22:13; 25:30.
The phrase is descriptive of Gehenna or the Lake of Fire and not necessarily relevant to Hades. The Lake of Fire ‘fire’ is for torment not light. The Lake of Fire will probably be a paradox of total darkness yet tormenting fire. Black fire or invisible fire, the scriptures say that it will darkness, and inhabitants will only hear grinding, grating, snapping and crunching of teeth because of the immense pain.
